See everything... even that which isn't there. I'm Scott, a resident of the great state of MI, 23 years old, and a lover of many fine things. I want to embrace all this life has to offer, make my mistakes, and learn from them, and never look back. I don't understand much in this world when it comes to people. I deal with objects, not feelings. So if I offend you.... well that's just because you're illogical. I'm so completely in love with my amazing girlfriend, Maggie(http://cocoahappy.tumblr.com/) and she is the most amazing person I've ever met. |
A tip from your favorite nurse
(that’d be me)
Always have eggs in your fridge
You just never know when someone will split their head open
Or cut their finger while cooking
And so on
See that membrane there?
While the blood is gushing - hold pressure and crack open an egg
Peel that there membrane off and put it on the wound (continue holding pressure)
The membrane will harden and keep the wound closed until you can get to the ER for stitches
If you even need them that is
Nature: 1, Band aids: 0
You’re welcome.
Cool! -note to self-
huh, I wonder if this is true
That sounds like a really good way to give yourself bacterial infections from the egg… I would bet that it works for the most part… but I wouldn’t take the risk, not when pressure and gauze can do much the same thing.
Interesting tip, but my spidey-senses are saying “HELLO DIRECT BLOODSTREAM ENTRY FOR SALMONELLA!!!”
Uh, wouldn’t there be bacteria on the membrane? On an open cut that could cause an infection.
